|---|---|---|---|
| Public positioning | Hybrid SaaS automation and performance-based GST services | GST compliance software for professionals and businesses | Self-serve service-export refund automation in development |
| Evidence available publicly | Marketing pages claim eligibility checks, calculation, filing, tracking, reconciliation and Statement 3 generation | A current product walkthrough documents an operator-led Annexure B import and JSON-generation flow | Public product workflow and guides; early access is not open |
| Who appears to do the work? | Hybrid: the homepage emphasizes automated filing, while the service page describes expert review and document preparation | The user selects the client and period, imports data, completes missing fields and generates the file | Intended for the exporter or CA to operate with exception review |
| GST login or document upload required to start? | The service page asks for GSTIN, username and OTP to produce an estimate | Confirm access, installation and data-import requirements for the chosen package | No GST password, OTP or document upload requested |
| Filing scope | Publicly marketed as a filing service/platform; obtain a written scope | Refund preparation is documented; confirm the exact package and filing hand-off | Direct filing is not advertised as a current capability |

How MyGSTRefund describes its workflow
MyGSTRefund’s homepage currently claims automated refund processing, an AI-based eligibility check, automated filing, real-time tracking and Statement 3 generation. Its About page describes the business as a hybrid of SaaS automation and performance-based services.
The public pages do not show whether a service-export refund runs from source records to RFD-01 without human work. A separate MyGSTRefund service page says its tax experts review the customer’s details and prepare the necessary documentation. The same page promotes both an “automated platform” and dedicated expert support.
Taken together, the pages describe a blended platform-and-service engagement. They do not make clear which steps are automated, which are performed by specialists, or which remain the customer’s responsibility.
To understand what “100% automation” covers in practice, request a live demonstration using redacted service-export records and ask:
- Who maps export invoices to FIRC or BRC receipts?
- Who reviews Annexure B eligibility, reversals, RCM and capital goods?
- Does the platform generate the complete RFD-01 working or only selected reports?
- Who signs and submits the application?
- Who handles an RFD-03 deficiency memo or RFD-08 notice?
- What GST credentials, OTPs and document permissions are required?
What Gen GST’s public walkthrough demonstrates
SAG Infotech’s Annexure B walkthrough provides more concrete workflow evidence for one part of refund preparation. It shows an operator selecting the client and period, importing GSTR-2B or government Excel data, completing missing information, saving the records and generating JSON.
The walkthrough also says data absent from GSTR-2B, including HSN information and port codes, must be entered manually. It therefore documents a software-assisted, operator-led process—not a hands-off refund outcome.
The walkthrough does not explain how a particular Gen GST package handles:
- service-export invoice-to-receipt matching;
- partial or grouped foreign-currency receipts;
- Rule 89(4) calculations and electronic-credit-ledger limits;
- earlier claims, amendments or post-filing notices; or
- the review trail needed by your client or internal approver.
Ask the vendor to demonstrate those parts before choosing a licence for refund work.
Fast GST Refund: the self-serve option
Fast GST Refund is the self-serve option in this comparison. It brings source imports, export and purchase reconciliation, exception review, a traceable Rule 89(4) working, and validated Statement 3 and Annexure B outputs into one workflow.
Early access is not open yet. The current flow does not request a GST password, OTP or document upload. It shows the preparation path relevant to your claim and returns useful guidance; it is not the automation product.
Fast GST Refund focuses on the preparation work before final review and authorised filing. Direct GSTN filing and RFD-01 signing are not being presented as current capabilities.

Which option fits your situation?
Follow Fast GST Refund when
- you want a focused self-serve workflow rather than a managed engagement;
- automated reconciliation and validated statement preparation are the main need;
- you are comfortable that the product is not available for a live claim today; or
- you are comfortable joining when early access opens.
Evaluate MyGSTRefund when
- you want a provider involved in preparation or filing;
- you want to clarify how automation and expert support divide responsibility;
- you receive a written fee basis, responsibility matrix and post-filing scope; and
- its access, retention and deletion terms meet your requirements.
Evaluate Gen GST when
- a CA or internal tax team will operate the software;
- multi-client or recurring GST work justifies a software licence;
- the selected package includes the refund workflow you need; and
- the vendor demonstrates the service-export and review steps, not only Annexure B JSON generation.
Due diligence before paying or sharing access
| Verify | Evidence to request |
|---|---|
| Automation | A live, redacted walkthrough showing which steps run automatically and where staff intervene |
| Scope | A written list covering data preparation, Statement 3, Annexure B, calculation, filing and notices |
| Fees | The percentage or licence cost, tax, minimum fee, extra GSTINs and post-filing charges |
| Data access | Required credentials, OTP handling, staff permissions and audit logs |
| Exit | Working-paper export, document return, retention period and deletion process |
| Responsibility | The person who reviews eligibility, signs the application and responds after filing |
Do not share an unrestricted GST password or OTP merely to obtain a quote. First establish the legal entity, engagement scope, access method and data-handling terms.
Bottom line
MyGSTRefund presents its offering as a combination of automation and expert support. Its public pages do not explain exactly where the automated workflow ends and specialist work begins, so prospective users should confirm that responsibility split. Gen GST documents an operator-led Annexure B workflow that includes manual completion for some fields.
Fast GST Refund takes a different approach: focused self-serve preparation automation for service exporters and their CAs. Until early access opens, use an available route for live claims; the current flow explains how the planned workflow fits your claim.
